About Belle Rose Kennels

Over the next eight years, I raised seven future service dogs, including Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, German Shepherds, and a Golden/Labrador cross. Along the way, I mentored new puppy raisers and learned that every dog has its own personality, strengths, and way of learning. One dog who was released from the Seeing Eye program because of a fear of thunderstorms became my first agility partner in 2006, opening the door to an entirely new world of dog sports and training.

Since then, I've worked with dogs of all breeds and temperaments, from tiny Chihuahuas to giant Mastiffs. Whether helping with loose-leash walking, excessive barking, basic manners, confidence building, or everyday life skills, I believe successful training comes from understanding the individual dog in front of you.

In 2015, I interned with Mid-Atlantic Border Collie Rescue in Chestertown, Maryland, where I adopted my first Border Collie, Auggie. Auggie introduced me to trick training, nose work, and countless new adventures. Two years later, Logan joined our family, followed by Jessie in 2019 and Tripp in 2020. Each has challenged me to become a better trainer while expanding my experience in agility, rally, herding, tracking, scent work, and other canine sports.

I earned my degree in Business Administration from Lebanon Valley College in 2016 and opened Belle Rose Kennels later that year. Today, I provide boarding, daycare, training, and light grooming while continuing to pursue advanced training with my own dogs. I'm also proud to volunteer with Mid-Atlantic Border Collie Rescue, the Kent County Humane Society, and Pets on Wheels of Delmarva, helping dogs and their people build stronger, more rewarding relationships.

At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: training should strengthen the bond between dog and owner. Every session should be engaging, encouraging, and enjoyable, creating confident dogs and owners who truly understand one another.
